Go Habs Go!

I FINALLY took my ass over to my first Hockey game.. and what a game!

Montreal Canadians vs Toronto Leafs

This is the equivelant of India Pakistan in Canadian terms.

Right, so we was gettin our ass whooped up until the last 7 minutes the score was 4-2 in the favour of them leafs. So we score twice in the last few minutes and it goes into over time. Nothing.
Penalty shoot outs. There was like eight of them.. and by a TOTAL fluke those damn Torontonians won!
Walked home yelling at all Torontonians "LEAFS GO HOME" as my friends and I stumbled due to beer and pizza overdose.

Anyway, thats pretty much all I've done other than study and see my friend who was in for the weekend from London. Just dropped her off to the airport, came home, took a shower- and its back to work. Thirty pages to read before 9 am class tomorrow.

Good night y'all.

I'm tired

This semester is getting slightly insane. I feel like I no longer have the time to shower. I ACTUALLY don't have the time for 6 hrs of sleep. It's 4 am. Class at 10. Son of a Bitch.

PS- i have so much catching up to do i've declared a state of emergency.

Assignment: make self portrait using advertisements in photomontage style.
Grade: C+. Obviously, prof thinks it sucked.
Thought it might entertain you. And yes, its scattered on purpose. Cuz I'm scattered damnit.

two weeks too late

To start, I would like to apologize to those of you in Saudi. I just spent the past 45 minutes SCREAMING at my computer screen and cursing at flickr as I tried to set up an account and got sent on a stupid maze of bullcrap because my email is associated to something their stupid computer doesnt recognize.. or something along those lines. So, I'm using blogger because flickr might give me a stroke if I keep trying.

Moving on:

New York.. was brilliant of course (from what I remember anyway).. I took very few photos to be honest, as always happens when I'm on vacation because I'm too busy being distracted by whats around me.. like this guy:

One of the reasons I wonder if I will ever be able to live in the Gulf again is street performance. Street performers turn me on- I love hearing the music as I turn the corner and wondering what the person looks like, or seeing a crowd and rushing to see what this performer has in store. This guy was GREAT on those buckets. Times Square- somewhere around 2:30 am.

The Met's steps. You know those scenes in Sex and the City where everyone is sitting around having lunch on a sunny day? I love it.

... I have to say.. somethings are just so much better up close in real life.

Zaha Hadid was exhibiting at the Guggenheim. Have I mentioned that the architecture is brilliant? I'm talking about the actual museum- but she is also brilliant. Her work is dotted all around the planet and has a distinct style. She has built towers from Hong Kong to Doha, to Germany and Montreal. She's brilliant and I applaud her. Look her up. Go on then, do it!

Central Park runners on a sunny Sunday:

... so, all in all- it was a "nice" trip. I enjoyed the city and what it has to offer as much as I could, but as always- I felt strapped for time. At some point, I need to make a point of spending a week or two in the city so i can just explore in good time.

Btw- I also went to see Chicago. Usher was SUPPOSED to be performing, but had strep throat. Talk about disappointment.

Happy Birthday Blog

New York was.. brilliant. I'll post the pics as soon as I Can be assed to upload them.

The drive back was.. hell.

Period cramps and a cold so stuffy my brain felt congested. Of course, niether of the two people with me has ever been behind a drivers seat.
Every time I'm in Manhattan I get sick. I get the feeling the pollution isn't good for human beings.

So I've been recovering.

New York New York

I was in a weekly meeting on Monday and informed everyone that I wouldn't be coming to next Mondays meeting:

CAC: I'm going to New York, baby!
I: Why?
CAC: What do you mean why? It's New York. I go at every opportunity
I: What's so special about New York?
CAC: I love it. It's my second home.
I: Where is your is your first home?

and so i sat and tried to answer the question.
Montreal
No, Doha.
Palestine.
No, Montreal.
But Doha.
And New York?

What about Palestine?

That's 3 in 3 weeks.

Aubergine Kitchens and Turquoise Bathrooms

I love painting.
It's my therapy.

Some people knit, some people smoke up, other people eat their hearts out.
I like to paint it off.

I spent my few free moments this weekend painting my friends' apartment for them and have decided that if all else fails and I must resort to physical labour to keep the roof over the head- I will paint.

I have a plan :)
